Brepona is a rare, indigenous white wine grape variety from the Veneto region of Italy, specifically the Illasi and Tramigna valleys near Soave. It is an ancient, nearly forgotten variety that was historically used in the blend for Recioto di Soave
Brepona has been recently added to Italy's National Register of Grapes (Masaf) and is undergoing evaluation for its ampelographic and oenological characteristics.
Historically sought for its spicy profile and straw-yellow wine with aging potential, Brepona had nearly disappeared, mistaken for other varieties.
